Looking to create something equally different and delicious this season? We have dug up an old recipe with a smart modern twist that even the fussiest children have had no complaints after scoffing it down. Perfect for dinner or as a sandwich filling, our Apple & Blackcurrant Silverside is a hit this summer.


  • 3Litres Apple & Blackcurrant Juice
  • 1.5kg uncooked corned beef/silverside

Step 1. In a hot frypan with oil, brown meat on all sides over medium-high heat. This will seal in the juices and moisture.

Step 2. In a large stock pot, add 1 large bottle of Apple and Blackcurrant juice, place on the lid and bring juice to a simmer.

Step 3. Add the corned meat to the pot, replace the lid, and simmer for 2 hours or until tender. Add more juice to cover the meat if necessary.

Step 4. Remove corned meat from pot, set aside to rest for 10 minutes. Serve with vegetables and white onion sauce.

Note: You can also re-create this recipe in a slow cooker!
